  Abstract:
The cardiotoxicity of Epirubicin (Farmorubicin - Pharmacia/Up John) in standard and high doses is discussed. Chemotherapy schedules: ABVD, ABCD, FEC, PE-6 coures and high doses Epirubicin (EPI) were applied in 64 patients (54 males and 10 famales) aged 19-64 years. We used the following criteria for assessment: ECG, LVEF, enzymes (ASAT, ALAT, CP). The results show no significant differences in both groups. Epirubicin can be applied successfully up to the cummulative dose of 1000 mg/m2 without any cardiotoxicity, as careful monitoring of the myocardial function shows.
