  Abstract:
Like all other widespread and uncontagious diseases malignant diseases can br prevented. Possibility of prevention is connected with the risk factors that may not be the cause but may increase the chance for the appearance of a particular disease. Elimination and reduction of these factors are the most important steps in the prevention of a disease. In case of malignant diseases the main aim of prevention is to avoid or reduce individual exposure to causes that lead to disease development (primary prevention) or to conduct detection and treatment of disease as early as possible (secondary prevention). There are two types of preventive strategies: populational strategy aimed at the elimination of risk factors at the level of whole population and strategy of high risks aimed at an early detection and treatment of individuals exposed to risk factors. Thanks to the development of medicine and other sciences significant results have been achieved in diagnostics and treatment of malignant diseases. However, during the last two decades these results do not keep abreast with previous tempo. It seems that the potentiality of classical healing methods has reached its peak and new achievements should appear as a result of comprehensive and large- scale research. On the other hand, the prospects are obviously brightening for the methods of both primary and secondary prevention.
