Abstract: |

New entity vacuolating leukoencephalopathy was first defined by M. S. van der Knaap et al in year 1995. This disease usually appears in the early childhood and it is clinicaly represented by macrocephaly and a discrepantly mild clinical course. Diffuse swelling of white matter and presence of the cysts in frontoparietal and anterior temporal subcortical regions is a typical finding. We performed computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging examination of the brain followed by localized proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy examination in order to establish the correct diagnosis on the first reported patient in our country. |
