TESTICULAR SELF-EXAMINATION

STEPS OD TESTICULAR SELF-EXAMINATION



After taking shower stand in front of mirror and make a good observation of genital organ. It is important to notice any swelling or enlargement of the scrotum.


Start with a observation of one testicle, pressing gently and letting testicle through the fingers of both hands (index and middle fingers on the bottom, the thumbs of the above). Testicles does not naturally have to be the same size.


Continue with palpation to epididymis, which are located behind each testicle.


Then take a look at vas deferans that are palpated like movable solid pipes.


Repeat the same procedure with the other testicle.


If a lump is palpated in the testicle or in the surrounding regions, you should, without delay, consult a doctor.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Why is it important to examine your testicles?
Testicular self-examination is simple, painless, and very effective method for early detection of testicular cancer. Should be performed by every man once a month, starting from puberty. It is best done after a warm bath or shower when the skin of the scrotum relax in warm water and through soapy skin every possible change is easily noticed. Self-examination takes only a few minutes. Do not forget that early detection of testicular cancer saves lives!
What if you suspected any change?
Mou should immediately contact your doctor, preferably a urologist. Testicular self-examination can not be a replacement for a exam of urologist.
Do testicles lose sexual function in the case of tumor detection?
The tumor is generally found only in one testis, which means that even in the case of operation, the remaining testis is sufficient for a complete sexual function.

Testicular self-examination takes less than 5 minutes.
Early detected testicular cancer is completely and permanently curable.
Take care of your testicles! Perform testicular self-examination carefully and with discipline! Perform testicular self-examination every month!
