Dr. Konstantinos T.
Papazisis is a medical doctor and a researcher in the field of oncology. Currently, he holds a position in the Guys Hospital in London as a Clinical Research Fellow in the Breast Cancer Biology Group, Cancer Research UK. He obtained his Medical Degree from Ioannina University, School of Medicine, Nov 1989 and Certification of Internal Medicine Specialization on Feb 2001 (after a 5-year specialization as a clinical registrar in internal medicine, infectious diseases, hematology and oncology). He received his Ph.D. Thesis - "Interactions between Protein Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors and Cytostatic Drugs in Cell Culture Systems"- at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He worked as a research scientist in the Laboratory of Tissue Culture and Cellular Biology, Research Dpt. Theagenion Cancer Hospital, Thessaloniki Greece, between Jan 1996 and May 2002. He participated in many projects including Ph.D. thesis. He published nine papers and participated in many congresses around the world presenting more than 50 presentations of the work of his laboratory and giving special topic lectures in oncology. Dr. Papazisis was an invited speaker at Studenica meetings in years 1998 and 2000. He reviewed manuscripts for publication for five international journals in the field of his experimental work. His main interests are extended to experimental and molecular oncology, signal transduction and the molecular targets in cancer therapeutics. Looking at his career, he keeps combining clinical and experimental work in the field of oncology.
